Sensei Wetmore the founder and head instructor of Leading Edge Martial Arts has been teaching in the martial arts since 1991. He has trained in a variety of different styles and has taught at a number of different schools. He opened Leading Edge Martial Arts in June of 2000 with a philosophy free of stylistic and traditional boundaries. He believes that there is always more to learn and room to improve. Leading Edge Martial Arts will continue to evolve as new techniques, concepts and ideas become available. This ensures that Leading Edge Martial Arts will continue to have the leading edge in self defense.

Deshi Joe

Deshi Joe Kortbawi, senior instructor of the Bethlehem LEMA school, began teaching alongside Sensei Rob in 1991. While honing his own martial arts skills, he also learned the skills and intricacies of conveying and sharing his vast martial arts knowledge with others. His well rounded martial arts background along with his energetic teaching style combine to create a fun and dynamic learning atmosphere.

Deshi Jenn

Deshi Jenn

Deshi Jenn began her martial arts training more than 18 years ago. She earned her first degree black belt in 1994 and has been teaching martial arts for more than 10 years. In 1994 she was honored with a picnic/meeting with Vice-President Al Gore for her academic and martial arts excellence. After brief stays at a few different schools, Deshi Jenn has found a home at Leading Edge Martial Arts. She has a deep love of the martial arts and enjoys teaching children.

Deshi Lance’s martial arts journey started when he was a teenager studying the art of Judo. In 2005 he came to LEMA because of the well rounded non-stylistic system that LEMA represents. Deshi Lance’s passion for the martial arts and his enjoyment in helping others developed into a teaching role at Leading Edge in 2006 as a LEMA assistant.  Deshi Lance’s dedication, determination, and knowledge of the curriculum allowed him to earn his black belt and instructor certification in 2008.
